Emilio Rotolo, owner of thequality winery Volpe Pasini located in the Colli Orientali, bought the renowned winery Schioppetto in the Collio area.
Mario Schiopetto was one of the visionaries who set the pace of Friulian winemaking. After his death in 2003 the cellar has been managed by his 3 sons.
The Rotolo family acquired the entire property with 30 hectars of land and also the ownership of the trademark.
“Both wineries remain autonomous and maintain separated sales structures in order to avoid internal competition,” said Emilio Rotolo to Weinwirthschaft. “In the cellars we will try, where still possible, to improve the quality. In any case, we will manage and move forward the intent of Mario Schioppetto that has strongly influenced the way I make wine ”
