Through the practice of pruning begins today the selection of the best grapes to be left on the plant of some crus of the Zuc di Volpe line. We begin with the Refosco. For who does not know the pruning is a practice of reduction of the amount of grapes on the vine in order to get a better maturation and concentrate the improvement of the quality on fewer grape clusters. It is performed during the change of color of the grapes, from green to the varietal color, about a month before harvesting.
Today in Volpe Pasini we are doing the disgorging. The new Cripto after 48 months on the lees out of which the last 4 month were to put it downwords today we finally have the disgorging. It will be available on the market in 4 months.
We had an internal tasting of old vintages of Pinot Bianco Zuc di Volpe to check the status of their evolution! We report an incredible performance for both the vintage 2007 and 1996! The event “Friulian Excellence on tour” promoted by the Chamber of Commerce of Udine and held yesterday at the prestigious setting of the Italian Embassy in Vienna has been a success and great has been the success also for the Volpe Pasini wines. Among our wines the one that shined and was liked the most by the many end consumers as well as operators and journalists at the event has been the Sauvignon Zuc di Volpe.
The last white of vintage 2012 to be bottled is the Pinot Bianco Zuc di Volpe 2012! Out of the wines vinified in steel tanks historically is the one that stays sur lie for the longest time. Great creaminess and freshness for this vintage, the vintage nr. 79 of Volpe Pasini historical cru that has been bottled for the first time back in 1933. Available on the market in October.
